Soul Splinters
Soul Splinters are Season of Hell's Legacy socketables. Equip one Prime Evil splinter at a time and up to three duplicitous gems in jewelry. Diablo's Splinter of Terror, Baal's Splinter of Destruction, and Mephisto's Splinter of Hatred each steer a pair of endgame activities and a damage type. The eight jewelry gems are named for Andariel, Azmodan, Belial, the Black Soulstone, Duriel, Lilith, Na-Krul, and Skarn. Each jewelry gem is a boon plus a liability. Socket Terror for Fire on Helltide and Infernal Hordes, Destruction for Cold on the Undercity and Lair Bosses, or Hatred for Physical on The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons.

Prime Evil splinters
You may bear one Prime Evil splinter at a time. Terror sockets Fire onto Helltide and Infernal Hordes. Destruction sockets Cold onto the Undercity and Lair Bosses. Hatred sockets Physical onto The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons. Bearing a Prime Evil splinter also makes you more vulnerable to that Prime Evil, so the socket is a trade: more power in two activities, more danger from that boss fantasy.
War Plans on Lord of Hatred are the director those modifiers hang off. If you do not own that expansion, you can still socket a Prime Evil splinter and run the base-game activities it modifies. Pick Hatred if The Pit is your week. Pick Terror if you live in Helltides. Pick Destruction if you are climbing Lair Bosses. Terror is Fire. Destruction is Cold. Hatred is Physical. Vulnerability to that Prime Evil is the cost of the socket. War Plans on Lord of Hatred direct those modifiers; base-game players still socket the splinter and run the matching un-gated activities.
Jewelry gems
Jewelry takes up to three duplicitous Soul Splinters. Splinter of Sin and Splinter of the Mother are the two names this page is built to answer first: Sin is Azmodan's gem, the Mother is Lilith's. Anguish is Andariel, Lies is Belial, Pain is Duriel, Hellfire is Na-Krul, Damnation is Skarn, and the Black Soulstone is its own associated relic. Official notes describe each as a boon plus a liability rather than a purely positive gem.
Exact numeric boons live on the live tooltip. This ledger records the names, the associated figures, and the three-socket jewelry rule. Swap gems when you change the Prime Evil splinter so the liability does not fight the activity you actually run. Waking Nightmares are the season's usual place to earn and swap splinters. Up to three jewelry gems. Each is a boon plus a liability tied to Andariel, Azmodan, Belial, the Black Soulstone, Duriel, Lilith, Na-Krul, or Skarn. Swap them when you change the Prime Evil so the liability matches the new loop.
How to choose this week
Write down the two activities you will farm, then socket the Prime Evil that modifies both if they share a pair, or the one that matches the longer session. A Pit-and-Nightmare week is Hatred. A Helltide-and-Hordes week is Terror. An Undercity-and-Lair week is Destruction. Fill jewelry with three gems whose liabilities you can survive in that loop.
Season rank still wants Lord of Hatred for about 15 percent of objectives, including Rank VIII. Splinters themselves are a season system, not an expansion SKU. You can experiment during the Steam free window through September 21, 2026 at 10 a.m. PT, then keep the sockets on a paid seasonal character after the window. Pit-and-Nightmare weeks take Hatred. Helltide-and-Hordes weeks take Terror. Undercity-and-Lair weeks take Destruction. Fill the three jewelry sockets after that choice, not before. Rank VIII still wants Lord of Hatred even if the sockets are a season system.
Eleven named splinters
Three Prime Evil splinters plus eight jewelry gems is the Season 15 roster named in Blizzard News and the Steam announcement. This page is the child ledger of Season of Hell's Legacy. It exists so Splinter of Sin and Splinter of the Mother have a dedicated table instead of a buried paragraph on the season guide. Fire, Cold, and Physical are the three Prime Evil damage tags; jewelry gems do not reuse those tags on this ledger because the official notes describe them as boon plus liability rather than a damage type.
Jewelry gems share the same slot rule: up to three, boon plus liability, associated with a named figure. Prime Evil gems share a different rule: one at a time, activity pair plus damage type plus vulnerability. Do not try to socket two Prime Evil splinters. Do not expect a jewelry gem to modify The Pit the way Hatred does.
Named jewelry gems in order
Splinter of Anguish is Andariel. Splinter of Sin is Azmodan. Splinter of Lies is Belial. Splinter of the Black Soulstone is the Black Soulstone. Splinter of Pain is Duriel. Splinter of the Mother is Lilith. Splinter of Hellfire is Na-Krul. Splinter of Damnation is Skarn. Those eight share jewelry sockets, a three-gem cap, and the boon-plus-liability rule from the official season notes.
Splinter of Sin and Splinter of the Mother are the two supporting queries this URL owns. Sin is the Azmodan jewelry gem. The Mother is the Lilith jewelry gem. Neither is a Prime Evil splinter. Neither modifies The Pit, Helltides, or the Undercity on its own. Prime Evil sockets stay on the Terror, Destruction, and Hatred row at the top of the table.
When you change activities, change the Prime Evil first, then rebuild the three jewelry gems so their liabilities do not fight the new loop. Waking Nightmares remain the usual season path to earn and swap. The child route exists so you can link a single splinter name without scrolling the whole season guide.
